Abstract:

In the past decades, new technologies for the advance in modern industry have been developed in a fast speed and patents are registered in a huge quantity every year. Catalysis as a tool is playing an important role in many industries, chemical, petrochemical, food processing, fuels and energy, pharmaceutical, etc. Thus, it is our great pleasure to introduce first issue of “Recent Patents on Catalysis”, which will provide an excellent communication forum stimulating the search for smart and integral catalytic solutions, the discovery of new and more sustainable chemical processes and the integration of state-of-the-art advances in industrial processes with the translational impact of relevant recent patents focusing on catalysis.

Recent Patents on Catalysis publishes review, research articles and thematic issues by experts on recent patents on catalysis. The journal aims to provide recent patent information in all areas of catalysis science, including heterogeneous, homogeneous catalysis, biocatalysis, electrocatalysis, organocatalysis, photocatalysis. A selection of important and recent patents on catalysis is also included in the journal. The journal is essential reading for all academic and industrial researchers, including IP authorities who wish to be kept informed about important patent breakthroughs in catalysis science and technology.

As Editor-in-Chief, I wish to express my sincere thanks to Bentham Science for their on-going commitment to the highest quality science, to Sumaiya Azhar, our Publication Manager, and the entire Bentham Editorial Staff that have done an exceptional job in insuring the highest standards of peer review. I would also wish to thank all the contributors and our readers; your comments and submissions significantly contribute to the success of this journal. I encourage all of you to contact me directly with your suggestions, criticisms and ideas that will help us all make “Recent Patents on Catalysis” meet the expectations that it is meant to do.
